This is an interesting read that suggests the preponderance of systemic autoimmune conditions in women is linked to incomplete X chromosome inactivation. Sadly, it doesnt have any immediate practical implications for us lot, but may be a pointer for the future. nature.com/articles/d41586-...

Thanks for posting.
I’ve already posted the following to WinterSwimmer :
“If an estimated 80% of lupus sufferers are women what about the 20% of men that suffer lupus?
Have they inherited a “bad”/faulty/defective X chromosome from their mothers?🧐
Women have 2 X chromosomes in their body cells but men only have one. So in women not suffering lupus even WITH a defective X does the healthy/non-defective X take over cellular functions!🧐
What’s the connection?
There must 100,000s of male lupus sufferers worldwide. Many are on this forum!?”
Any thoughts on this?
Regards
