My name is Michaella and I am the new Volunteer Coordinator for LUPUS UK.
Before joining the wonderful lupus family I worked in offices carrying out various administrative roles. Then in 2018, I went on to begin a degree in Midwifery and while I love supporting women and their families, in recent months I realized it wasn't for me and towards the end of the course I stumbled upon a vacancy with LUPUS UK.
Since my sister's diagnosis of SLE many years ago and then my own in 2018, I have followed the amazing work the staff and volunteers have done and hold the charity very close to my heart. I am forever grateful for the difference the charity has made to ours and the lives of many and feel fortunate to have been given the opportunity give back.
I hope to be able to use my previous experience to support the wider lupus community.
