baricitnib - how long did it take to work

Hi - I started taking barticinib in the beginning of December. I was previously on a similar drug that i came off in July so there was 5 or so months when I was solely on methotrexate and hydroxychloroquine.

I was fairly stable when I was on my previous drug and up and down since stopping . Now 4 months or so since starting the barcitnib and I have had a fairly bad flare. I am starting to wonder if it is even working or is it too early to say?

Dear Bettina. I have been on Methotrexate since 2016 and the flares become part of life. You will see a shift eventually where you are having more stable times than not. I am now nearly getting through a whole year with only 1 setback. The most important thing with Methotrexate is to get your inner circle that you associate with to remember you are on this drug to help your body but it does leave you vulnerable so they please need to not come near you if they are ill of have been ill.
