Earlier this week, NICE published their draft recommendation for Evusheld. They are currently recommending that it should not be used by the NHS for the prevention of COVID-19 infection.
Unfortunately they feel there is insufficient evidence that this treatment is effective against the current dominant variants of COVID-19.
Probably worth mentioning that Astra Zeneca is working on a sucessor to Evusheld - the issue isn't that Evusheld isn't effective, it's just that we've allowed the Virus to mutate so far away from where it was when Evusheld was first introduced that it's not effective anymore. Let's hope that the successor becomes available soon and that governments don't drag their feet on making use of it again - only place I know of where it got widespread use is in the US.
