HCQS for joint pain vs eye problem

Hi everyone- has anyone gone through the dilemma of stopping HCQS due to increasing eye problems- eye ache/hyper photo sensitivity vs compromising on finger swelling /joint pain relief from HCQS?

I started HCQS 5 months ago due to finger swelling/ finger joint pain last winter and now experiencing high level of photo sensitivity- eye flashes/ eye aches/ head goes for a spin if I look at bright light etc. My Rheumatologist asked to stop HCQS. I am wondering if it will lead the finger swelling to return in the coming winter . Any similar experiences will help.
