discoloured lips!

hi for the past few months my lips look almost blue like a thick line arounf them as if I’ve got dark lip liner on! I’m not sure if it is a side effect of hydrochloroquine or if it’s something else and j should get it checked has anyone else experienced this!! Apologies for the photo it probably doesn’t look that bad on here but you can totally see it in daylight

Not as far as im aware I've been on hydroxychlorquine sulphate since 2009.

Contact a pharmacist dr or rheumatology hun

Hi Sammymoat, I have exactly the same as you! My daughter first commented a few months ago when I had no make up on. I have noticed some days are far worse than others.I have no idea what it is though. I have been on hydroxychloroquine for about 14 years. I am glad you have got a drs appointment. Please would you let us know what they say it is. I had a blood test yesterday and will mention it also when I get my results. I have endless symptoms x

myn comes and goes aswell some days is worse than others myn looks almost blue wondering if it’s related to raynauds possibly! It’s very odd we get some odd symptoms don’t we!

I have raynauds too. I hadn't thought of that. You would think it would be worse in the winter. My daughter noticed mine several months ago so warmer weather. Yes, we totally get so many odd symptoms. I am glad you posted this as it will be interesting to see if others get it too

so guys I seen my gp it was a bit of a waste of time if I’m honest becusse he said he thought it might be the hydrochloroquine coz I’ve been on it for a long time? I’ve only been on it 4 years and he said it can cause hyper pigmentation but he said to speak to rheaumatology to get them to check it out, if anyone else gets any other answers please let us know
