Moving and recent Drs visits

Well finally hit our time frame, listed our house, and moved. It’s been a stressful few weeks but it’s over and I’m thankful.

Just before that we went to UCLA and saw quite a few Drs so heres how it went:

Rheumy 1 : thinks Lupus is attacking my right knee. She said something about it being different from an old injury.

Neuro

Thinks I need a sleep study and to drink more water. No need for another emg that my twitching and fasciculations are due to stress, lack of sleep, and lack of water.

Dermatologist

Thinks I have Chronic Hives or PMLE that I might be allergic to the sun and hot water etc. So I am to take allergy medication and record what I eat.

Rheumy 2

gave me alot of really good tips, like don’t take naproxen or alieve, that I should be taking Cox2 inhibitors as they won’t give me ulcers and I’m prone to ulcers because of AIAG. Glutathione is good to add and vitamin C, Colon Max is great to use for IBS when traveling, and starting a tincture of cbd with a higher thc content may help with pain but to start slow.

Rheumy 3

Says I fit the criteria for Lupus, to stay on the medication as she thinks it helps and we keep going.

All labs look good except for Ferritin ( dropped to 56 and their goal is to stay at 100) and TBIC is low by a couple points. When you Google search TBIC, they say it would be low because your iron is high or stuck in places is shouldn’t be? I think i may have mis-understood. But my iron is dropping too. The Hematologist has asked about my period and sometimes it’s heavier than normal but is that the only reason these drop? I know I have a condition that doesn’t allow me to absorb iron and b12 properly. I’m wondering if upping all the other vitamins such as B12, potassium, D3K2, C, etc. It will cause Iron to deplete faster because I’m not getting any besides the infusions?

I have gone through 2 major moves in the last year and can relate to the stress that you have probably experienced. There are all sorts of things that I have been confronting but I think the worst of the move stress is over, and things will gradually settle down. Stress can throw all sorts of body systems out of normal. If this was a locational move you will need to establish with new physicians, who will probably give you more opinions. Hopefully, the new situation will allow you to relax and enjoy the next stage.

It sure can! I’m sorry you’ve had to undergo this twice in the last year and hope that adjusting/ adapting and making all the necessary changes is getting easier.
