garden flowers, cat's whiskers?

not sure if this is the same plant that Titters had as cat's whiskers.

Yes this is a pink Nerine, the one common to the UK. I also grow the white (more like very, very pale pink) version in my garden.

I think it is similar. Will it get the long tendrils that are the ‘whiskers’?

no this is pretty much it. others seem to be able to grow this in large clumps but mine just stays as one bulb.

As you and I continue asking questions I just read Wikipedia on merited. Very interesting!!!! Originating in South Africa. A good read on a cold day.

Mine can populate themselves as a single. But they multiply eventually into a clump. I just fertilize and mulch to protect through winter. It can go down as low as 28F but it rarely lasts long. Must cover camellias still blooming/sometimes I don’t have energy I just let nature have her way😊

your camellias are in flower now? ours start around christmas for early varieties and go on through to Easter.

That is similar to ours. Crazy weather patterns have changed some things. I do have one beginning so I’ll try to get a photo out soon🌺
