Trees usually grow but just one cosmos gave us all these blooms 😀

Nice to know what it is called - they are currently the main colour in our village bee borders! Loads and loads of them.

Stunning display of colour. Such a pretty garden. I’ve just pulled away all the dead cucumber and pumpkin plants. I can actually see that part of the garden now! Pumpkins are like triffids! Take over the place, and all we have to show are 3 pumpkins, but my grandchildren are in awe of them as they grew them. Still out in the garden waiting for the third one to go orange. That’s the pumpkins by the way - not my grandchildren! Lol!

Can’t stop laughing at that thought

We see these on our short walk round the block, my son and me. Passed the garden a couple of days ago and there they were, lots of lovely pink cosmos standing tall and waving at us, what a treat for the eyes. They're lovely. I expected them to be almost gone but there were even more flowers to see 😊

Once they are established they can dominate a small garden if left to run wild and the effect can be quite stunning as you have seen. A few seeds scattered should do it - give it a go 😃

I keep thinking I'll get some. Do they need much care? watering etc?

No space in the back garden but I have a small bit in the front made with sleepers with one pot in there at the moment. I forget to water it but it survives. Its shaded as well....the rest of the garden is paved over. Would love to see some colour in there.

My son took over mowing the grass out back and he's let it grow over most of what was bedding space 🙄

Easy to grow from seed and they are thirsty but also hardy. The one I pictured was grown by seed and self seeded this year, it’s 4’ tall and I pinched the heads out as it grew to create this effect. It’s so pretty and the birds coming to drink in the water bowl seem to like it. I press the flowers for my 8 year old granddaughter but she’d rather run riot 🤣

Lol...I can imagine. My 2 are 19 and 15 years old now I miss them.

Might invest in some seeds then and pop a large tub in the front garden. The 2 peonies I bought this year are looking moth eaten and one looks to be a goner after being such healthy plants. I moved them and they didnt do well...lesson learned.

Looking forward to your pictures next year then 😀
