So, l had a horrid reaction after my jab

This after waiting for what we assumed was a horrid flare to die down. Landed me in the ER with a Blood pressure was So high I coded. I also had excruciatingly painful leg pain… I was checked for clot but that was negative.

Later learned from my Rheumi that I had developed antibodies to my biologic. Now I am thinking this was the cause and not the jab. Is it at all possible that getting the vaccine alongside my antibodies reaction caused the issue I experienced? Would love to know, but can’t seem to get a straight answer.

In any case, l am waiting for the all clear for the second jab, not currently on a biologic, currently keeping things kinda even with aspirin and steroids. My BPM still up and down.

I feel like l am in limbo without my biologic now… nor sure what to do and wondering if the steroids will be enough. Depressing.

Hi,I find me that if Docs won’t know something, they just say nothing or they are non committal. My rheumatologist usually says she doesn’t know if she doesn’t. I always thank her for being honest when she says she doesn’t know.

I really appreciate honesty.

I hope you start to feel a little better soon .

It's just maddening not knowing for sure. I suppose I will just brace for another reaction when I am cleared for jab two in the in case.

Nobody would know the answer to that question

So should I take something prior to the shot to limit any kind of potential harmful reaction?

i don't think you could do much to prevent side effects. the only thing you could do is make sure you are not dehydrated, so plenty of water, and acetaminophen once you start feeling fever/chills (if you do start feeling bad).

Indeed, I do have an issue with water intake. Thank you for the advice in this regard.
