Undiagnosed

Hello,

In August last year, I came out in a rash and the rash has never ever disappeared, sometimes it settles and others (like today) it's horrendous, my skin is so sore, hot and swollen.

My GP initially thought I had chronic urticaria, however after a referral to immunology, she thinks it could be something autoimmune due to the bruising I am having after the rash. She's referred me to dermatology to have a skin biopsy, however I'm still awaiting a further appointment.

This morning I woke up to my lips and eyes swollen, I could barely swallow, the rash is covering me. I have a terrible headache, my muscles and wrists are so sore.

Is this normal? I have no idea what the diagnosis will be but in the mean time I'm really struggling to keep things settled and it's really effecting my mental health. My little boy is fifteen months old and I get so embarrassed taking him out when I'm like this (which is more often than not at the moment) and I've just been told to sit and wait for my appointment, feeling like this.

Can anyone advise?

Orange9-

No, this is not normal. Sounds like you are really struggling. Your doctors know this is not normal and that is why they are trying to determine the cause.

I would call your GP to report your new symptoms of muscle aches and sore wrists and eye swelling. They will want to hear this.

Tell your GP about the difficulty swallowing and ask what to do if severity increases.

Check back and let us know how you are you.

I've told them this, they have put me on antihistamines which aren't helping but the sore muscles is new, I have an appointment tomorrow morning so hoping something can be done. Thank you 🙏

Okay, good. Good you have an appointment since you now have the sore muscles.

Ask your doctor what he/she is thinking since the anti-histamines are not effective.

Hey, that was a fast diagnosis . That’s brilliant! How are you feeling now? How are your symptoms? I was following your post to see how you got on - I did actually post but I guess it never went through lol! X hope things are looking up for you and the rash and swelling has started to subside

Hi Orange9 I'm new to this site but relieved that I've found u all. I use Boots moisturising cream with colloidal oatmeal which is similar to Aveeno but cheaper especially when u need so much of it😔 when this doesn't relieve the burning and itching I've found having a bath in Dead Sea Salt. Westlab mineral wellbeing. I buy bag fulls at a time in B & M's. About £2 a bag but it gives me at least a couple hours of pain free skin. I hope this helpful, good luck.
