Is nausea a symptom?

Hi all,

I hope you are well.

I don't have any diagnosis yet bit have been getting various symptoms for well over a decade.

Initial tests were for MS and Parkinson's. Both were relatively clear apart from lesion on my brain.

Anyway, I was wondering if nausea is a symptom of Lupus. I get it a lot and Even more recently. I am on meds for vertigo which aren't doing anything.

I have recently been given a gel for a rash on my face which the GP thinks is rosacea.

I'm currently waiting for a neurologist appointment. I suspect the first thing will be another MRI. Who knows!

I'm exhausted and just want answers.

I hate the nausea. At times it feels like the worse symptom because it stops me doing things.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

I suffered from nausea due to medication.The GP gave me a tablet that you put under your tongue.

It dissolves slowly and helps the nausea a bit,enabling me to eat.

Have you seen a rheumatologist ?

No, not seen a rheumatologist yet.

Thank you for the information. I will ask my GP about it.

Do you know what medication it was that made you feel nausea? I'm on various meds but none have changed recently.

Myclophenate,now The dose Has been reduced slightly,I don’t suffer from nausea any more - fingers crossed.

Dear Lorraine Before I was diagnosed with Lupus one of my symptoms was nausea and vomiting especially in the mornings and it didn't stop until I started treatment for lupus.

I am not sure if they are linked.

Hi Lorraine. Yes!!!!!!! It is a real symptom. I’d be a stick without something to rev up my appetite. SLE with aPL here on Plaquenil, IVIG, aspirin, etc. Antihistamines helped a lot for nausea so I take allegra twice a day. Makes me feel like an element of MCASness may contribute to my nausea. I have vestibular problems as well without vertigo so the nausea for me seems more functional like slow GI or too much acid. I chalk it up to dysautonomia on my end. All my tiny nerves are shot. Antacids sometimes help but not always. I know this isn’t legal in the UK but medical marijuana has worked amazing for me. Now, I almost never feel nauseous as crazy as it sounds. I too smell of myasthenia or MS at first glance but my tests were also all negative. I know how you feel. You’re not anxious or making it up. The nausea is so REAL.

There are medications for nausea like ondansetron, compazine, prochloperazine. They work well and I prefer compazine but they make me reeeeally sleepy so I don’t use them very often. They also constipate me horribly.

I suffered from nausea and vomiting prior to my diagnosis too. I found that once I was diagnosed and treated it eased a lot. I am now feeling exactly the same as I did prior to diagnosis and am waiting to go back to a Rheumatologist at the end of May. I hope you can get some help and answers.
