Mood changes from medication reduction

Hello,

My girlfriend has pretty severe Lupus Nephritis doubled up with some other things. She’s recently reduced her Mycophenolate to 250mg a day (from 500mg which she’s been on for 2 months, which was down from the 1000mg she was on at the start of the year). This was her doctors idea, as we would like her off this by the end of the year, as her diet is doing a great job of keeping her symptoms under wraps. However, she’s noticed that when she’s reduced her Mycophenolate, that she is having bad mood swings, where she wakes up angry or sad. Has anyone else felt the same when reducing this medication, or does anyone have any tips for battling this?

I think that's something you need to report to your doctor

We have done, as it’s an ongoing thing. I was just interested to see if other people have gone through similar situations and what they found helped/didn’t help.

I have mood swi gs but didn't think it might be from MMF. Maybe it is... i get most help with cogbitive behavioral therapy plus an antidepressant. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a must. It's what helped me the most with mood issues.
