I have been diagnosed with lupus SLE recently. I’m just wondering if anyone have a problem in swallowing food. It feels like food stuck in my throat all the time and please could anybody tell me about the diet because I’m losing my weight xx

I think it's a bit like an xray , it looks at your mouth, throat and oesophagus . It must be frightening when food is getting stuck xxx

Hi, i had the same feeling as you a few years ago and also had to go for a barium meal, felt like i had a chicken bone stuck, turned out it was sleeping with 2 pillows. Apparently the muscle in my throat inflamed whilst sleeping, reduced pillow to 1 and lt stopped. Hope this helps

I had a modified swallow test (barium) and an EGD. I was found to have moderately severe silent reflux now believed to be caused be Stiff Person Syndrome. Silent Reflux is similar to GERD but has no heartburn symptoms and caused other issues that I won’t go into here. I was already being worked up for weird AI symptoms and my neurologist sent me to the ENT dept for testing to rule out other causes.
