Hi, I am still waiting for treatment to start but in December I was told I have systemic lupus, I am currently having painful joints to the point I can’t lie down comfortably etc. I try taking salt baths but it doesn’t seem to help much I’ve brought a V-pillow to see if that helps. Any other suggestions would be lovely.
Thankyou

Hi Rufioxox, sorry to hear you’re experiencing pain right now. For my joint pain I focus on reducing inflammation - exercise (whatever you can manage!), foods such as turmeric, honey and ginger, lots of fruit and veggies, and generally just trying to manage stress levels.
If it’s my bigger joints like knees and hips then putting your feet up for a while is a must, and investing in comfortable footwear.
And then there’s medication of course... Are you taking anything currently?
No, I’m not on anything as of yet, but my rheumatologist is ringing me in July so I don’t know what’s going to be said or done as of treatment etc. I’m sorry you go through this as well! Thank you so much for the advice
Well I hope the consultation goes well, and I’d perhaps recommend some prescription strength ibuprofen is your GP is happy to prescribe some. In the meantime, trust your body and take extra good care of yourself
I’ve already had the consultation I had all the bloods tests chest x rays and finger scans in December etc so it’s just about my results but I will be contacting the gps, thank you very much
Hi Rufioxox sorry to hear your in pain. It's always worse at night when trying to sleep. You say your waiting for your treatment but some of your symptoms can be dealt with by your local Dr. Have a chat with them and get better pain relief. I have alot of nerve, muscle and joint pain and this year had enough. The GP gave me gabapentin and if I have that I sleep much better. Hope your feeling better soon.
