No-one knows whether any particular groups can or can't have the vaccine currently under discussion. It is only one, the first in the UK and the details of the study data have not yet been released - only that it appears to work very well. Another is in clinical trials in the UK (Oxford) already and another is starting today (Janssen) - their results will not be due for a few months, 6 months at least in the case of the latter. Once they have the basic information they have to look at specific cases - and then it may be possible they can say one way or the other whether it is suitable for specific autoimmune disorders. Until then - it is all media speculation.

I'm certainly avoiding contact as much as I can (as if my husband got it it would be curtains for him) - there was no shielding as such here and no online shopping exists either except for expensive small specialists - no Tesco or Morrison-type food deliveries at all. The choice is go out or starve! On the other hand - masks are compulsory which is a comfort. Nothing would have induced me to go inside to eat or drink - but the weather here does mean sitting outside was possible right up this current lockdown. I don't imagine it is going to change much before next summer - anywhere.

Hi Unggoy,

From the information available at present, vaccine eligibility will be confirmed soon. According to the BMA’s website covid vaccines are likely to be similar to the flu groups and should include: all over the age of 50, those considered high risk, care home residents and staff and all health and care workers - bma.org.uk/advice-and-suppo....

Best wishes,

Chanpreet
