Hydroxycholorquine and vitamin D3

Hi all,

I want to know if it is safe to take hydroxycholorquine and vitamin D3 supplements? I am on 300mg of hydroxycholorquine per day and the vitamin D3 tablets I have are 25 mcg (1000 IU). I have been on hydroxycholorquine for a year and haven't experienced any negative side effects but just want to make sure it won't interact badly with vitamin D3.

I've been on 400mgs hydroxchloroquine for 18 months.im prescribed bone protection as I m steroid dependent.Accrete d3 tablets are prescribed by my gp .I've had no issues with either x

I was diagnosed ( pre SSc ) with D deficiency in 2009. Was put probably a symptom of the SSc anyway. Have been on D since then to keep my levels up. I was put on Hydroxychloriquine 19 months ago 400mg to start then 300mg to maintain. My only concern was adding to my calcinosis, but so far seems ok.

Hi, yes I was prescribed Hydroxychloroquine and Vitamin D been on them for 5 years I always check with my pharmacist too if I start any new meds hope this helps 💜🦋

Hi, yes when I was on hydroxy I was on high dose vit d and was fine no problems.

Hiya AnnaVal,I've been on both of these for the past 2yrs and alls good,the D3 is just to help with the vitamins we lose from not being able to be in the sun,so yes no need to worry and I hope this has help a little x
