Has anything been said about whether the covid vaccines are going to be live vaccines? If I’ve understood this correctly, live vaccines are not suitable for people taking immunosuppressants so not suitable for many lupus patients.

It is very unlikely that the vaccines currently being worked on will be only live - they are being developed using a range of platforms. This is a difficult chunk of text but the image is fairly clear:

Figure 1 shows the proportions of the various types of vaccine under development - the white bit at the top is the live attentuated virus in the original work. None have yet reached the Phase 1 trials - so they have fallen behind.
No one has developed a viable vaccine yet, so it’s unknown. I personally am skeptical that they will develop a vaccine because it’s a coronavirus and they have not been able to develop one after trying for decades. I believe we will have effective treatments within a year. They have never been able to develop a vaccine for the HIV virus after trying for 40 years either, but they have very effective treatments now.
