Hi, hope you all keeping well. I’m due to have my blood test done. Usually I go to the hospital to have it done. But now with all the covid 19, not sure if it is safe for me to go there. Any advice please ladies and gents.xxx

If you're in the UK it's really good and not in the least crowded at the blood tests department and the staff are all wearing their PPE's. You have to book a appointment on line though so that they can keep people down to one or two. No walk in patients are allowed at all for obvious reasons. Hopefully you already have the online site but if not it's on the test request form or just look at the NHS site for your area and type in the hospital blood test department.

I had to go 4 weeks ago and the department was as good as empty of patients and with the appointment in and out really fast. In fact I've also had to have 2 out patient appointment's and it's exactly the same as good as empty and more staff then patients, it was a pleasure to go for a change.

That's okay I know how worrying it can be at the moment and if you haven't had to go to the hospital for tests and the like since all this has started then it's somewhat scary not knowing what to expect. To be honest I've found it much easier and faster than it was before and no sitting around in crowded waiting rooms for ages. Bliss

Hi. I have to have regular blood tests, weekly in fact, so I have been having the district nurses come to me. Although in all honesty, with the amount of people they see, I'm thinking it's probably not the best x

Absolutely safe. If you are concerned then please talk to your GP and/or consultant, but hospital outpatient departments are really efficient and deep cleaned at the moment x

Thank you all for the info and advice. I could not get any appointment at the hospital. But managed to get an appointment at my GP. Take care and stay safe.
