I feel betrayed.

I have recently found out that blood tests done by my old GP sometime ago now (Changed practice) showed raised inflammatory and RF levels yet nothing was ever said to me nor did he ever inform my Rheumatologist. I now have a condition at the top of my spine C1/2 that spinal specialist asked me how long have l had RA, as what he was looking at he has only ever seen in people with RA, obviously l said l didn't, but now it looks like l may well have RA on top of everything else. I wish l could speak with my old GP to find out why he never said anything , but as he is now retired that will not happen. Just so you know he was very reluctant to accept my diagnosis of Lupus etc that he said to me after my diagnosis , "So who are yo going to believe Rheumatology chap at my local hospital (did blood tests for Lupus but said they were all normal l found out years later that they were not normal but proved l had Lupus, or someone he had never heard of namely Prof Hughes" and now this, l feel so betrayed by his actions.

It’s frustrating Callie isn’t it , sorry for this, my gp is bad for this , told me knee X-ray fine then got a call to hospital week later, it wasn’t, tell me bloods ok then hospital tell me inflammation , and old doc before told me urine tests ok, when wasn’t even done, ( on test said not done due to staff shortages) and I went to hospital had infection again and tests revealed twisted kidney was culprit. I can’t understand if it’s just sheer laziness, or what but it is disheartening and scarey to be honest.

I personally think we should get a copy every time we have one , even paying I wouldn’t mind .

Take care 🙏

Thank you Kevin 53. Yes I did change practices thankfully, but l would really like to ask my old GP why when l had raised inflammatory levels and RF that a) he did not say anything, b) he did not forward that information to my Rheumatologists .

I do wonder if either his arrogant attitude or the fact that he was proved wrong with my diagnosis , that made him ignore things that were staring him in the face.

As a retired nurse l expected him to be at least professional, open and honest, even a small apology would have gone a long way, like ooops didn't see that one coming, after being his patient for over 30 years and we were on first name terms that he would have at least been honest.
