Hi

Apologies I know the following information will only apply to a small number of people on our site but if you sit within the NHS Lanarkshire region of Scotland I’ve attached a link below that provides some clear information, especially the ‘Implications for Rheumatic Disease treatment’ section.

nhslanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk/...

Hope this helps. Stay safe. 🙂

Hi, thanks for the information. I've got 2 scheduled appointments for Respiratory and Rheumatology in April, as yet I've not received any notification

Hi Carol, I’ve got one for 1st May, like you not heard anything yet but am preparing myself for mine to be cancelled. Take care.

I'm deeply impressed your Rheumatology dept has a website! :) My local general was just on the BBC news, doing some deep cleaning at last..

It's in line with guidance:

'• Consider postponing long-term follow-up patients until the crisis has passed.'

england.nhs.uk/coronavirus/...

Second bottom line

Stay safe

I’m quite surprised tbh, but on this occasion they seem to be organised. I do expect to be getting a call to cancel my appointment. I’m due to be starting a new additional drug, not sure what though because I had a bad reaction to Hydroxychloroquine (typical seeing as what’s all over the news just now). MTX isn’t cutting it any more but I will just need to hope my flares don’t get worse.

Thanks for attaching the link.

Take care 🙂

The guideline also suggests telephone appointments for a change in meds, new symptoms etc...HCQ didn't go down well with me :(

Ask for a telephone consultation so at least you could have a back-up prescription should they want to cancel and things take a turn

Be safe xxx
