Those without gardens but with sunny windowsills may be able to grow sprouts/microgreens

If you haven't got any seeds this might be a good way to start.

There are lots of similar videos on YouTube

Here's something for the indoor gardeners

You can do similar with a variety of dried beans or seeds. Lots of videos available

This is fabulous..thank u for sharing ONHL🤗

I've been watching YouTube videos n I've already started spring onions..they're on my living room window..n we're experimenting with 1 carrot outside..but with the intention of planting more..once we get some more carrots!!

I'm passing it onto my family n they're chuckling coz I've always been a bit green fingered!! Now though I'm photosensitive so just give out orders!! 😹

And another plus is it gives us something to do seeing as we're all in 'stir'(jail)..all doing time..without committing any crime!!

Thanks again 🤗🤗😽😽xx

I was watching another how to grow this morning and a seasoned grower was complaining about buy once and then regrow videos.

He stated that the carrots will not regrow a carrot. They will grow carrot leaves but not carrots. Carrot leaves are apparently edible but...

Same with celery and with the spring onions. Apparently will only grow the green bits which I like anyway.

Bottom line is. You will potentially get something edible but not a copy of the original without growing from seed.

Thought it only fair to mention it.

Yeah thank u..I understand..it's microgreens..which r shoots of the original plant..full of nutrition!! If it's good enough for rabbits...🤔!!

Between u n me...nettles r fabulous for nutrition..n they're very tasty in a soup..or a tea..or just gently fried in oil!! They're coming into season..n will continue on n on..Romans bought them here to cope with the climate..ie lots of rain n damp..they used them to whip their aching limbs..followed by a cloth soaked in vinegar to cool the area..now nettles r used to help with rheumatism n arthritis!!

If u get stung by a nettle..thank the nettle coz it's just given you a blast of good acid to help with your joints( I can't remember what acid it is though 🙆have an idea but will have to check 😹😽😽xx

They are an excellent source of nutrition, but don't even think about it if the area may have been sprayed with any weedkiller in the past.

Their roots go very deep into the soil and potentially reach all sorts of good stuff.

But if the ground has ever been contaminated they will pull up the contaminants.

Yes that's good advice..don't pick nettles near roads or fields etc..I have a cultivated nettle patch in my garden!!

U posted this up n I was just adding ideas!! 😽😽Xx

Dandelion leaves r good nutritious salad leaves too!! A dog might have cocked his leg on them but as long as u wash what mother nature provides..I think it's actually safer than getting veg from supermarkets..when they've been handled etc..by who knows who!?!
