Flares, fitigue and breathing issues

Hi

I had a highly likely probable lupus diagnosis 2 years ago after terrible joint pain in wrists and fingers and feet and pain in upper arm muscles. Bloods also showed I had anti double stranded DNA.

I have since been on hydroxychloroquine which has helped. But recently my joint and muscle pain has become worst, I also had a flare up in a new site of my knee which lasted about a week.

I also suffer with breathing issues but not sure if this is asthma or stress and terrible Fitigue, which makes me down as I used to be a very sporty active person and at the min I'm struggling and upset because I can't do what I used to do.

I put on a brave face and keep going but I've had to give in and take some time off work these past few weeks as feel so bad.

My rheumatologist is off sick then retiring so going to speak with doc about a new referral which will also give me another opinion on what's going on and if I'm on the right mess.

Anyone else have flares in new sites and Fitigue like this?

I can offer no help sadly but I suffer your symptoms equally can’t do what I used to and debilitated by symptoms . I was diagnosed fibromyalgia and palandromic rheumatism , the rheumatism diagnosis then taken away with no explanation and the hydroxy. Since that I’ve had hell with symptoms and worsened, awaiting help from neuro but suspect I also need a rheumy as I didn’t know that palandromic can affect whole system not just joints. I don’t know what’s wrong but have a great deal of sympathy for you suffering the symptoms and hope you get some help. 🙏

yup. very common. you need to work with your rheumatologist to find the cocktail of meds that will help you. there are many many different meds you could take and hope you find some that work for you.
