Worsening malar rash and symptoms

This is a updated post from my last. Still waiting to get into rheumatology and because of a 1:320 homogeneous speckled ana count and multiple symptoms of lupus. My rash seems to be getting worse along with episodes of freezing cold feet, joint pain and breathing problems. Does anybody else rash look like this?

And has anyone else gotten weird scaly patches on their back, some in clusters, some circular and light pink?

Hi Seth! It’s hard to tell from your picture if it’s a malar rash. I have posted a picture of mine straight on if you look through my posts. Malar typically doesn’t involve the nasal folds/area around nostrils. It might be good to ask for derm referral when you see your doc next time. The rash in your picture could be associated with other AI disorders as well since it does look like it includes folds. Speckled ANA can also be seen in various AI disorders. It’s hard to say if what you have is definitely lupus without further testing which a rheumatologist will probably complete. There are definitely signs of something autoimmune but it seems more investigating needs to be done. But if you have lots of rashes, derm is the place to go.

Sorry you’re feeling so poorly. I do hope you find some relief soon! Please keep us up to date with your progress. There are tons of knowledgeable people on this forum. ❤️

Hi Seth. That is what my rash tends to look like. It varies in how bright it looks and sometimes can look patchy in the middle. I also had the scaley patches you were talking about. Started on my hip and gp thought it was something like eczema, few weeks later it was all down my arms, legs and back aswell. Seen the rheumy and he said it was part of the lupus and gave me some steroids which sorted it out. If I'm waiting too long for rheumatology to get back to me and the symptoms get worse I usually go to the gp or cuedoc if it's closed and they usually give me the steroids as for me when my rashes get worse all my other symptoms are a lot worse too and hard to manage. Hope this helps.
