I'm probably worrying over nothing but I have my first bad head cold since I was diagnosed and am slightly freaking out. I am currently not on any lupus medication due to visual issues (am waiting for the ok start them again) and so my family are watching me like hawks. Do I need to worry more about catching viruses and what do I need to watch out for? Currently can't get warm but still think its just a head cold.

First cold since getting Lupus diagnosis.
Patty, I’m so sorry you are going through this. Someone who knows better than I do may clarify this, but, I think that if you were on meds, you’d need to watch and worry. Meds work by taking our immune systems down, so they leave us defenseless against colds, the flu, etc., while we are on the medication (if I understand correctly), but since you say you are not on meds, you should be fine since your immune system is on overdrive. But, to be on the safe side, always check with your doctor. In the meantime, don’t stress. Get a comfy blanket, a cup of hot cocoa (made with coconut milk😁) and put in a good movie. Hunker down my friend.
I hope it passes soon. 🙏
Over time I have worked out that it is easier for me to get warm if my neck is warm.
Also it helps if something warm is in the stomach.
Holding your wrists under a WARM not hot tap can be useful as well. But hot food in the stomach will warm from the inside out.
Wear several thin layers and you can remove or add as necessary.
As already mentioned you are not on any drugs that are supressing your immune system right now. But if you have any worries contact your gp as lupus is an unpredictable beast.
