A weird Lupus symptom

I have been experiencing sensitive nipples since last week Wednesday. I have not experienced this symptom before.

I have contacted my consultant secretary but unfortunately, my consultant was not available on Friday to call me back.

Has no one experienced sensitive nipples before?

I have SCLE n have had many rashes over my boobs (as well as everywhere else)..The only time I've had sensitive nipples is when I've been pregnant!!?!! Xx

Believe it or not, yes.

When my anti phospholipid Syndrome was in full gear , about a month before diagnosis and full on large DVT.

I would call them , “ painful” and they took on a darker , more purple hue and a bit swollen.

I went to my obgyn. I assumed it was hormonal. Tests were run- it wasn’t. I told her I knew what it was... ENS. Exploding Nipple Syndrome! We both had a laugh, although that’s what it felt like.

I later found our from my son’s pediatric Rheumatoligist that the little capillaries to nipples can have Raynauds with APS/ lupus. ( our son also has mild APS.) I immediately though back to my experience... and then knew what had happened!

(So can lungs, he said. And tip of nose! )

At my next Obgyn appointment, I told her what my sons Rheumatoligist had mentioned. I laughed, and told her, I really did have ENS after all!

Do you have Raynauds in your fingers? ( I have a quite pronounced case .) If so, maybe this is a possibility in your case?

I have been diagnosed with Lupus (July 2019) and Prolactinoma(2015). I haven't been diagnosed with Raynauds. I am not sure why breasts are some sensitive.

Currently I am waiting for my consultant to contact just me. I am not sure what is going on with my body.

You are welcome. Bodies do strange things with these lupus and lupus spectrum illnesses.

Has your prolactin been tested lately? It might be elevated again?
