I was prescribed this on Wednesday by dermatologist to treat hair loss. What treatments have worked for you?

I have lost well over 50% of my hair now ☹️

Unfortunately I had to wash my hair before Wednesday’s appointment as my scalp becomes so dry .

I have noticed if I let the dry scalp build up and then wash my hair my scalp becomes quite sore after as if I’ve disturbed a wound or sore . To be honest I just don’t know 🤷‍♀️

Anyhow dermatologist kindly pulled out some of my hair to see how easily it come out. After this he has prescribed me this shampoo . Worth a go .

Anyone had any good experiences with this or other recommendations? I do treat my scalp with organic coconut oil too.

I’ve read in many places that the best treatment is to shave the full head 😳.

Shaving head doesn’t actually work I don’t think 💭

I’m not sure about head shaving.

I think it’s really forcancer patients. A lady at a group I go to shaved her head after chemo. It looks really cool when it grows back.

With my lupus I have patchy bald bits,running out of ways to combmy hair! I think that if I shaved my head my hair would grow back n patches.

Have now got a wig for going out,it’s ok. Gets a bit hot sometimes.

It says in the literature that hair will grow back when treatment is well established.

Am a bit sceptical about this,hope am proved wrong.

Oh sorry your hair is falling out ☹️ I lost a lot of hair in my early days of lupus but it grew back fully in remission and I’ve only had two times when I’ve lost a lot again so getting the right overall disease treatment definitely helps.

Ask your GP for betnovate scalp application. It’s a steroid liquid you squeeze directly onto itchy, inflamed or areas with hair falling out. It’s very relieving (initially just the cold then the steroid stops the inflammation and itch and hopefully some hair loss although I found it worked more for the red/ inflammation and some hair still fell out)

I have used a very good organic products all my life, taken supplements, massaged it upside down, had Aqupuncture, bought a Theadom hair laser...….nothing has stopped it indefinably......I started PRP this year …...watch this space......shaving it just be the only solution...…..X
