Yes I am afraid I am far more ambivalent about Dr ******. I live in South Wales but was referred to St Thomas’s for a second opinion when my then Rheumatologist decided that I did not have Lupus but Bechets and Fibromyalgia and took me off the Hydroxychloroquine. Initially Dr ****** was very thorough and helpful. He stated that unless someone else had taken by bloods for me I had SLE. My Rheumatologist was livid and wrote a long letter accusing Dr ****** of undermining him. I went for my follow up appointment and Dr ***** told me that I did not have Lupus but UCTD which “ will not kill you” and discharged me. This was based on no tests, no examination nothing. I was so distressed that I refused to see a Rheumatologist for two years afterwards. I really hope you have a better experience. I think the fact that he gave me the hope of better treatment then capitulated when challenged was really poor.

Hi Buckley123 ,

I just wanted to let you know that unfortunately I have had to edit your post to remove names. It is against the terms and conditions to have any negative comments about named individuals because it makes us potentially vulnerable to libel. It is perfectly fine for people to discuss this via private message, but we can't have it publicly on the forum. Sorry.

I wish. My last Rheumatologist saw me for five years and never once examined me. A Gastroenterologist wrote to him advising that as I had choking, rashes and tendon issues he felt I had CREST. My Rheumatologist responded that I had enough issues so he certainly was not looking for any more. I complained of severe rib pain which he put down to Fibromyalgia and it transpired that I had pleurisy on both lungs. He has left now so I really hope the next one will at least be interested. I know no one has a magic wand but a little consideration goes a long way. Thank you for your kindness, much appreciated xx
