So even if Ana is just a bit over normal levels with your symptoms they should be able to diagnose. At first was told I had non hodgkins but 3 months later was told it was lupus. I have issues with heart kidneys and liver...also sensitive to sun light. I hope they come up with something soon for you. I know being a guinea pig is no fun!!
Hoping you will get answers!!: So even if Ana is... - LUPUS UK
Hoping you will get answers!!
Hi Jojo070674,
An ANA test determines whether or not a person has an autoimmune disorder. Around 5% of people with lupus have a 'negative' test result. dsDNA antibodies are very specific for lupus (as they are not typically seen in any other condition or in healthy population) only approximately 60% of people with SLE will test ‘positive’. Therefore if someone is positive for these antibodies, it often means they have lupus, but if they are negative it does not necessarily mean they do not have lupus.
