On Tuesday I am having a coil inserted to help me to cope with period and ovulation pain. My cervix is quite far back and I have a bendy uterus so they will use a local anaesthetic. I am very worried about it. Worried about having the coil inserted and the procedure.
Any advice and experience about it please?
Thank you so much xx

Please don't worry. I had a coil for many years. The procedure was a bit painful but over within minutes. As you are having an anesthetic I'm sure you won't feel a thing.
Good morning Tulipano, I had a coil fitted for similar reasons some time ago. Like you I had problems with my anatomy that made insertion difficult. Here is a technique that might help you. First, unless there is a reason not to, take two painkillers about 1-2 hours before your procedure. Next, (start practicing this one today!) lie on your back in bed or on the floor. Try and roll your pelvis, pressing down the small of your back so that it is flat on the floor. If you put your hand under your back you will feel if you are doing it properly. Your natural reaction to having someone doing something like this to you is to arch your back to get away from the "threat" , and this makes your inside anatomy harder to find! Take slow, even breaths - in for a count of 5, hold for a count of 3 and out for a count of 7 and hold for a count of 2. If you practice doing all this a few times before Tuesday I'm sure you will be so busy on the day it will all be over before you know it! Sorry for the long waffle, hope it all goes well - I will be thinking of you with love and a hug, xx
