ME TIME!!! After years of pushing through the barriers I am taking some much needed time out.

Ive no idea how I have managed to keep on going. I have taken a few days off here and there but always managed to get to work. I think without diagnosis I had some self doubt also.

Today I have decided that I need to take time out to reflect on things. Try and muster up some energy and concentrate on me and also allow time for the medication to kick in.

I am extremely anxious about the impact this will have on my job, but in my reality what is the point of money without good health!!!! I wonder if any of you took some time out of work? and if this caused you any problems? x

Hey hun, I think you have been amazing to struggle through and believe you are doing the right thing, even though is a hard decision to make. You are right in what you say without good/better health you can’t enjoy the finer things in life. You need this time🥰

Thank you so much for your kind reply. My children need me more than a job , so time out to build strength can only be a good thing . X

My vote is to take some time off. You have been forging ahead and working with so many physical challenges. The psychological impact of feeling so ill but with no diagnosis takes its toll. It is a lot to process. I look back and wonder how I worked in my younger years when, like you, I was feeling awful and undergoing tests for a long time. Just take a break and let your body and mind rest. K

Thank you , I do need reassurance right now. I feel like I’m letting work down.

Only 2 weeks ago my boss called me sloppy, and that hurt me so much because living with all these symptoms and little sleep has left me feeling more than sloppy, but I tried almost every day to just be in a normal world with an abnormal mind and body x

Lisa — you are not letting work down. Your body has let you down. And the tests for your type of illness are sadly unable to pick up on early cases and patients who are symptomatic but stubbornly do not test positively for autoimmune disease, so current medical knowledge has let you down. When healthy people are applauded for their hard work and long hours, I can’t help but think to myself how it is not hard at all compared to having to just getting through the day with a chronic illness. That is heart-breaking what your boss said about being sloppy. If only he knew how it is impossible to be « neat » when your brain is not functioning properly, your fatigue indescribable and your pain unrelenting. Long baths, slow walks and soft music are what you need now! K

I totally agree with others..take the time off that u need. Do not put wealth above health!! Less is more!!

It sounds like u are having major struggle right now and your boss is incredibly unsympathetic!! BOO...BAD BOSS!! Mind u if he only said that two weeks ago then u have been managing well so don't let that comment play on your mind too much.

Rest, rest and then rest some more!! And enjoy time with your children coz they soon grow up!! X
