I am going for my first appointment tomorrow morning at the Royal National hospital for Rheumatic Diseases.

I wondered if any of you have been there and what to expect from my first appointment. I am quite nervous.

Am hoping for good things so fingers crossed. Lucy xx

Hi Wrexlu,

Hope I'm not too late! I have never been there but would very much like to. They are well respected.

Write down all your symptoms. Be prepared to head off "you are over analysing it" comments by pointing out that you have included everything as you don't know what is relevant.

Lastly - WEAR APPROPRIATE UNDERWEAR. They will want to make a physical examination.

Hope this is good enough for last minute advice.

Good luck & keep us updated.

Sarah x

This is probably too late but you have nothing to be nervous about , they are very friendly and thorough, all the best for the new year xx

They are brilliant, I have been going there for over 25 years and the new head of team, Dr. Eloy is lovely xx

I have been and saw the same lady I saw privately. She told me my Lupus had got worse and is going to start me on a low dose Methotrexate. Feeling relieved something is finally being done.
