Have driven down to Clacton today with my mum. My brother has got a caravan with our cousins and we’ve joined him. I was going to come home Wednesday evening. I considering skipping my methoject this week to maybe stay till Friday . I haven’t brought one with me .

What do you think about skipping one ?

I really don't know Loulamb, I don't know about this drug or much about your Condition either. Two questions though, why didn't you bring it, when it was Prescribed, and have you done this before? If you have 'Skipped', a dose, before why are you asking, if not I personally wouldn't advise it. Can not, one of your friends/family bring one down for you?

Sorry if this is not, the answer, you were expecting (hoping for) but, my advice, is not to do this. Surely your Health, and Wellbeing, come first, don't they?

I didn’t bring one because I had planned to come home Wednesday evening. So I didn’t need one, now I’m here I think I might like to stay a bit longer.

I’ve been doing them for 7 weeks and haven’t skipped one yet .

Sorry to say this, but I'm still, 'Uneasy' about this....Just a feeling, sorry.

Uneasy about skipping ?

That’s why I was asking for other people’s experience. If they’ve ever skipped or not ? I would be coming home Friday so I could just change my day to Friday?

I do like a Thursday as injection day though as it works better for me.

I just want others opinion .

Hi Lou, glad to hear that you're getting to enjoy a little break 😎 The guidance available online from the UKMI pharmacists re a missed dose of Methotrexate (once weekly) seems to be that you can have your dose within two days of the due date. As a one-off, with some proper advice from a medic, it may be okay. If there's a pharmacy nearby in Clacton, go and speak to the pharmacist for up to date advice and then you can make your decision. Our medications are so important to our wellbeing but being able to live our lives with some flexibility and freedom is important too! xxx

Hi Loulanb,

I was 2days late with my Methrotrexate. It made me feel really bad . Also I was able to get it from a chain pharmacy that already had all my information.. You also can call your Rhemy to call one vial just for this one time to the nearest pharmacy. I had to do it on two occasions once while on vacation and another when I went into a bad flare. I hope it works out...As you can see it’s almost 5 am have literally been awake for over 24 hours. Its ok I had longer days before. This is my first year with SLE, Sjogren, RA and Fibro

I’ve decided to just come home on Thursday morning instead of Wednesday afternoon it’s less hassle. Knowing myself if I skip one I’ll forever be skipping .

No reason why you shouldn't just shift your day. I tried methotrexate recently and told the rheumy before I started that I would miss 2 weeks altogether because I was going to Korea and he was fine about it. You should also miss mtx if you have an infection. so shifting your day isn't going to hurt you.

Thanks .

I prefer the Thursday because it works better for as I have a friend that helps me. So if I change day it will mess it all up . I’ve decided to come home on Thursday now anyway .

I have just booked for next year though for the Monday - Monday .

Who knows next year I might be on different meds anyway

Glad you've had some helpful answers Lou and I hope you have enjoyed your much deserved break with your family. Can't believe it's half way through the summer holidays already. Take care. Wendy xx

Thank you . Neither can I . I have to find things to occupy myself though otherwise I become quite depressed.

I spent the first 2 weeks doing play scheme.

Week at home and in pain and then a few days here . Not much planned for the last 2 weeks. Might baby sit a cousin for 2 nights and a couple of meals out with a few work friends .

Sounds perfect. Term time is hectic enough without the added fatigue of lupus etc. I take my hat off to you. xx

I’ve not been thinking about September very much. I’m in a new class with more able children less hoisting more manual transfers . I’ve had a personal risk assessment done but the head didn’t like it. So I’ve got to see occupation health when the term starts at some point x
