Hi everyone, I’m under the care of the vasculitis clinic at Addenbrooke’s (thanks admin for the advice of getting myself referred there!). I’ve just had my latest blood results back, and I’ve got a positive of IgG4. Does anyone know what this is?
Thanks x

Hi Makimon, Immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4) can be produced in excess levels whenever there is a collection of disorders present within the body. These disorders are immune-related and may cause a wide variety of symptoms.
Thank you for your reply LupusKaren. I’m still a bit unsure of what it could mean! The specialist at Addenbrooke’s has just diagnosed me with UCTD but I was surprised to see IgG4 is positive. X
There is a particular form of vasculitis which presents with high levels of IgG4, although it can also be raised in people who don't have this - vasculitis.org.uk/about-vas...
Are they going to monitor it and repeat the test in a few months?
I’m under the care of the Vasculitis/Lupus clinic at Addenbrooke’s after your suggestion to get myself referred there. I’m due to see my specialist again in August so no doubt they will check them again then as they always do a full array of bloods when I go.
