Hi all, my husband has just had his blood test results which are supposed to be normal. He saw a consultant 5 days ago who diagnosed SCLE & took a biopsy. My question is - is t possible to have SCLE without raised ANA or other markers?

Hi Sandibea,
Around 5% of people who have SLE will not have a 'positive' ANA test result.
Although dsDNA antibodies are very specific for lupus (as they are not typically seen in any other condition or in healthy population) only approximately 60% of people with SLE will test ‘positive’.
