Dressage Competition

I've felt better over the last few days. Last time I wanted to do a dressage competition I prepared but ended up in bed for three days with exhaustion and missed the competition. This time I've paced myself. I turned up with an unwashed horse wearing dirty tack. God bless that pony. She did a great test and we won!!!! I'm immediately in bed. Everything hurts. I can't string a sentence together. BUT, I've done "my thing " and I'm overjoyed.

Well done you,be careful next few days,I went to driving comp 4weeks ago,not better yet,and another show coming up next weekend,

4 weeks!!! Mind you, driving is strenuous and quite bumpy. I had a go once and loved it. I can't see me doing anything other than dressage these days.

Gosh, well done. I used to have horses but gave them up in 2002 - Lupus, husband and children were just too much but I do miss them. Get lots of rest & congratulations xxx

I think it is always hard to do horses when you have a young family, especially if you're working too. Adding Lupus in must mean it is impossible.

Hi HeKe. Well done, l sat on a beautiful Andalusian the other week for the first time in 20 plus years, previously l was competing either my self or with my daughter and her show hunter pony. But after my hip replacement last September l was determined to at least get on, l did, l only walked around an indoor school with the odd trot, but after just 30 minutes l was exhausted, but l was in seventh heaven , but could not get off lol l could not physically get my leg either of them over the back of the horse, after lots of laughter and the help of my daughter and instructor l was off. Of course I now plan to go again.

I'm in the early days of all of this. The pain is kicking in, especially up my forearms from my wrists, but I've had so much pleasure from the last few days. I know I'm heading downwards again as I can feel the pain increasing, but the pleasure of the last few days will see me through. I even managed to cook a simple supper for a few friends which we ate in the garden tonight. I'd like to say "fingers crossed" that you feel better soon, but that's not fair if you can't even bend them.

The sun really does not help me if I’m out in the sun without sun block well it’s my own fault as I know it’s going to be bad ask at your next rumi appointment to see if you might be uv sensitive? Lest I’ve got a good selection of trilbys and fadoras
