Often felt my blood pressure drop just by sitting in the garden for 5 to 10 minutes. Love the forest and anything to do with nature so will be trying above every month (soon I hope)

That's actually got a lot to do with 'earthing' or 'grounding'

The terms are interchangeable. Dr Steven Sinatra M.D. a cardiologist supports earthing. He says it can help reverse certain aspects of heart disease. It also has an effect on thinning the blood.

You need to be in touch with the earth, so spend some time without gloves or shoes and reconnect. Maybe hug a tree. It is really supposed to be good for you.

I completely agree that being out in the natural world is a truly therapeutic thing. I don't think there is any magic to it, and I haven't seen any good quality clinical research that demonstrates a physiological effect (the study cited in the link states that "forest bathing" increases natural killer cell production, which would be a bit problematic for us - we generally don't want to boost our immune cell response! Luckily, the study is of 12 blokes placed in a hotel room with an air freshener in it overnight, so I don't feel too worried!!)

I have a more simplistic understanding, which is that we are a part of nature, and it makes us feel good when we are in our rightful place, rather than sat in front of a screen, in a sanitised box.

So yeah, forest bathing - lovely
