What main things to ask or mention to the gp for a refferal?

Staywildmoonchild profile image

Hi all.

I have an appointment on tues with my gp with the aim of getting another rheumy appointment. Its been about 5 years since my last. I have gathered together some photo evidence that im going to take with me so he can send them in my refferal letter but i was wondering are there any specific things i should state or request now? Are there certain bloods that the gp can do?

Many thanks for taking the time to read this. All answers gratefully accepted.

When I needed a referral back to rhemy my g.p. basically wanted me to write the referral, so I typed up a summary of my symptoms, with bullet points, list of any current treatment and medication. Picture are helpful. Usually for me it's the rhemy directing the bloods, except the g.p. practice nurse now tests. regularly due to meds i am taking & recent cholesterol tests. This summary helps them focus on your symptoms and concerns without an extensive discussion.... Good luck ML
