Lupus Flair after taking Cipro. I have half-dollar sized whelps on my legs and one on my back. My pharmacist told me to stop the Cipro, but my family doctor said to continue taking it. I have gotten more spots and some of the large whelps have water filled blisters. I am prone to uti's and the culture indicated Cipro and two others that I am allergic to. He said normally it was taken for 3 days, but because of my history, he ordered for 10 days. I see my dermatologist on Tuesday. I am stopping the med after 3 days, which is today. It makes me feel better, except for the whelps. I had a few whelps in the past, but nothing this bad. They don't go away completely, just fade.
