I'm having a nightmare of a few days. Was on my way to work on Thursday when I decided to take a dive off of the pavement.
I couldn't get up as had lost the use of my left arm having fallen heavily on it.
Luckily 3 x recycle men helped get me upright.
Walked slowly to work as left arm
Killing me. Arrived burst into tears, not my finest moment, and work first aider took me to A&E.
honestly thought it was badly bruised but X-rays showed I had dislocated my shoulder and fractured my elbow.
3 weeks off work, left arm is immobilised in sling for 2-3 weeks, 4-6 weeks light duties and intimated physio would be needed. My right knee is also badly banged up, see pic.
I still can't believe it happened. My Manager doesn't appear to be best impressed but hardly wished it on myself. Problem is if I'm not there she has to do some work so will be interesting.
As you know from my previous post I was having great difficulty with fatigue, even got around to making an appointment with my Rheumy but sadly all on hold now as hard to get around.
Existing on 3 hours sleep at mo as shoulder in agony. Not looking forward to next few months 😥
Have some great friends who have rallied and even a few family members so some back up. It shows who your true friends are in these circumstances.

How on earth did you manage to walk to work with a dislocated arm? It is SUCH a painful injury! And why on earth didn't someone dial 999? That is a really impressive bruise too!
A&E doc asked the same thing and he could only presume adrenaline kicked in. He also couldn't believe I carried on with the injury.
Worst part was all the X-rays before the shoulder was reset as the guy wanted me in all weird and wonderful positions that were impossible due to the pain.
I can really sympathise with you, I did a similar thing 3 months ago and I’m still suffering. I have a picture that looks identical to yours.
I tripped over a kerb in a car park, my daughter was holding onto me, but she couldn’t stop the fall, fell flat on my face on concrete, first aides came, said I was ok and didn’t need an ambulance. I seemed ok but then the damage became apparent.
I have synovial fluid leaking out of knee, torn my rotator cuff in my shoulder and sprained my ankle, having Physio for my shoulder which is helping.
Saw my GP last week, he said I was very lucky, the lack of feeling in my knees may take up to a year cos I have really destroyed my nerve endings on the knee.
It has really knocked me for six, like you people have been rallying round.
Was going to post a pic but can’t seem to do it on my iPad.
So sorry to read of your accident and how brave you are. You must have been in agony!. Glad your getting a lot of help from friends and family and I hope you heal really quickly!. Impressive bruise, take care. Hope the rest helps your fatigue. X
Wishing you well and I hope you feel better soon, I’m amazed that you managed to get to work and your bruise is magnificent.. hang in there you will get better, take care of yourself and let others help you x x
