Urine Infection

So the last few days have been interesting.

I ended up at the out of hours gp at 2am Thursday morning with a raging urine infection. It went from just constantly needing a pee at 7pm to being doubled over in pain with blood in my urine by half past 10. Not pleasant!

What made it worse was that I'm on Methotrexate which obviously suppresses my immune system, hence why it progressed so quickly and there was nothing I could do about it.

Thankfully I'm feeling a lot better now after being prescribed Nitrofurantoin.

What I do think is strange is, I posted on here at the beginning of the week about hallucinations but it was the next day the UTI took hold and it's not happened again since.

I'm not sure if this is of any help, but my partner seems to have heard that hallucinations can often go along with UTIs, though it's not something I have experienced myself. I was relived to finally find out that frequent UTIs could be put down to the Lupus though! I hope you recover quickly - they are so very painful.
