Feeling Worse

I am not sure how to title this posting because the post is the explanation. I have SLE and celiac. I accidentally ate gluten the other day, and now my body really hurts. My question to you guys is when you are sick or if you have celiac, do you find that your body hurts more? Or your symptoms flare up? Any information would be helpful. I am in agonizing pain because my body hurts so bad and I am not sure if it is because I am sick from the gluten or I was outside too much.

Thanks for you help!

Hi, I have lupus and coeliac. When I get glutened I definatley feel worse usually for at least a couple of days, if not longer. They are both autoimmune related so I'm sure the coeliac affects the lupus side of things and causes a flare. Hang in there is will settle. x

Hi boxier rolls

Sorry to read your extra poorly after eating gluten!. I find I ache strongly if in a flare and I also have IBD which makes me ache when it flares so can be hit twice!. Do hope you soon feel better and you've got good painkillers. X

Unfortunately, I have no pain kills but I have found that CBD oil helps me manage my pain. So thank goods for that!!! My doctor won't prescribe me any pain medication!

Yes can't eat gluten - it makes me feel really ill (joint pain, headaches, reflux), though I don't think I'm diagnostically a coeliac. I'm on AIP, which, although it's a a pain in the arse, my body seems to really like. Time will tell as to whether I can adapt it. I am interested in the functional medicine approach though - makes sense on a lot of levels though I don't want to become obsessed!

Me too, I was told I was ' wheat intolerant ' but not coeliac, whatever that means ?? Since being on Paleo I feel so much better, re fatigue, joint pains and reflux, and brainfog ! I don't think you're becoming obsessed, just taking control 😀
