Hi majormonique

It's lovely you want to help your mum so much and horrible she is suffering greatly. Shame that you live a long way from each other!. I don't have direct experience of throat problems and pain but just wonder has your mum seen a specialist about it?. This would be a good idea specially if she's had this a long time!.

Has she also talked to her lupus doctor about it?. It might be her treatment needs adjusting to help. I'm sure you'll get replies from people on here with better experience, hope I've helped and she's better soon. X

Hi Majormonique, your mother is very lucky to have such a devoted daughter. Lupus has many symptoms, Joint pain, and hair loss are pretty common. Laryngitis or losing your voice is also something that goes along with lupus. You have a joint in your larynx surrounded by synovial fluid which can become inflamed just like any other joint and can cause hoarseness. I would just encourage her to follow up with her rheumatologist or primary doctor to keep on top of her symptoms and treatment options. I have so many of the same symptoms, it's important for family to be as supportive as possible. If we take good care of ourselves, we should have a good long lifespan. Keep on being an interested daughter, as having family be there and be understanding is very important. I know you wish you could be closer but just being in touch has got to mean the world to your mom. Take care, Nan

Hi okay I just read the bottom of your thing where it says you have to take care of your body it's funny cuz that's all I did was take care of myself eat healthy eat right go to the gym do everything possible I can do for myself and still yet couple years back I woke up with jerking movements like seizures I couldn't talk I couldn't do anything I couldn't function I had to be putting on disability because it became to be really depressing and I also suffer from a DVT with that being said I just found out that I have mixed connective tissue disease with that being said I also have something with my immune system that's going against me as well so it doesn't matter how much you take care of your body it doesn't matter how much you you're in touch with your specialist it doesn't matter it happens you can be healthy you can be not healthy it happens so be honest
