No. Retinal tears/ Retinal Holes are is the beginning stages of the vitreous separating from the retina. Usually treated withe laser to stop further tearing or with surgery.
For now no medicine is known to be a cause of this.
You must immediately go to a Retina Specialist so you can get treatment.
P.S. I work with a great docotor as his medical assistant in Retina Associates of New York and he experiences this condition everyday. So I do have knowledge in this field.
thank u so much for your reply , would u please have a look on this ??

I showed the report to Dr. Cohen. He said there is no link to taking Hydroxycholoroquine and retinal tears. However, studies have shown that medicine may cause early changes in your macular or hydroxychloroquine retinopathy. Reason why if your on the medicine long term they suggest regular eye check ups.
Please read the information given by actual retina specialist and speak to a retina specialist on retinal tears. Also speak to your ruemy. They would not prescribe this kind of medicine if every person (whether with SLE or other forms of medical problems) was such a high risk.

So this is not true ??
(Retinal tear is reported only by a few people who take Plaquenil. We study 29,662 people who have side effects while taking Plaquenil from FDA. Among them, 5 have Retinal tear. Find out below who they are, when they have Retinal tear and more.)
Unfortunately, thats only one study. And it wasnt a lab study. And because retinal tear happened to 0.02% of people who use plaquenil it was just coincidence.
Read the actual FDA report. Doesnt say anything of retinal tears.

Not everything you read on the internet is true. Reason why you do more research and speak to your doctors.
