I've read others talk about a diet program that has been effective. It is a U.K. Plan, I'm from the US and would really like to try it. If anyone has info on the name I'd really be grateful. Thanks

Hi, I don't know about the UK diet plan you're referring but apparently a vegan/juicing diet is good to Lupies & deters flare-ups

Hi I haven't heard of a U K diet plan but I have been following a diet similar to the Paleo diet for the past few years which has helped me avoiding all foods that would increase body inflammation e g all beans peppers tomatoes curry chillies if you google the diet it will guide you it does include bread and potatoes but I continue to eat them but in small amounts good luck hope you find it helps

A plant based diet helped me put my lupus into remission for around 3 and a half years without any sort of medication, my disease has progressed now to where I have to take hydroxychloriquine but I definitely feel like it would be much worse if I weren't eating this way, best of luck to you in your journey :)

Effective for what? There has been discussion on the forum recently about diets for losing weight while/after taking steroids. Low carb and Slimming World were both mentioned in that context.

Sorry I wasn't more clear, I was talking about weight loss.

In which case - both low carb and SW have been said to work well. SW has a web site and you can enroll online to get their programme. There are many low carb sites - from Atkins onwards.

i don't remember the link but I was just watching a video on the subject saying it isn't about the calorie count but the food choices ....complex carb real food vs processed, lean meat and veggies and food choices...it made sense that two people went on the same calorie diet but one chose good foods and one chose any foods and one lost weight and health and the other one didn't lose any weight bec many carbs turn into sugar and inflammation.....mostly processed foods....or non organic....paleo is a diet that has worked for many...it is not a over night success but I had a friend that was extremely over weight that went on it and a year later she was down several sizes...shocking...just food choices...just a thought..the video guy was talking about good fats your friend and sugar is the enemy...wish I still had the link..

Weight Watchers has an excellent and easy to follow eating plan for losing. Unlike many other plans you are allowed to eat anything but you do have to track what you eat. It works and it works for life.
