Rash , any ideas?

Hey guys,

This weird rash? Has come up on my thigh. It's red and hot to the touch, not itchy or anything. (See pic) I was out in the sun today but wearing high protection. It can't be sun burn Becuase I'm not burnt anywhere else

Any ideas?

Hmmmm...I get something similar ....recently was out in sun (well, sun & showers!) in the mountains smothered in high protection recently & got this as usual....as I understand it, my version of the is mainly down to urticaria Vasculitis....I get it from being exposed to heat as much as from sun.

Thanks glad to know it's not just me. it spread all down my leg last night but seems to have calmed down a bit this morning. Take care x

Yes: my recent rashes gradually subsided once I stayed out of the sun & away from the heat...I agree with misty: take any pics to your clinic 🍀🍀

I caught the sun recently and had a red, hot rash like yours. It has gone now but it shows how careful we must be!. Keep your photos for showing your Consultant. X

Thanks for your reply. It was a new experience for me, I've always burned easily in the sun but I've never had a rash or anything Becuase of it do this is a first for me! I will keep pics for next appointment, it spread all down my leg last night so I took some more pics of that too!

Hi Stacieann

You might find it causes a flare when you suddenly ache and feel extra tired and unwell. Are you on any treatment or seeing a Rheumy for the first time?. It's good you've taken more photos as it's spread. Hope it settles soon. X

Hi again,

I get the same, especially on thighs and legs ,when driving on hot day despite 50+sunfactor on under jeans so as coco (barnclown) says as much from heat as sunshine and have also been told urticaria side of vasculitis. Do mention to go for their/your record as its easy to forget day/date of symptoms by time of consultants appt.

Hi;

It looks like (the best I can tell from photo) that it is a lupus rash, but I can't say for certain. I get these rashes/blisters on upper thighs and where leg joins the body, and on feet. I can't explain why those are the places. I do get some on my arms. I don't even try to explain Lupus now. We all have different issues but, yet they are all the same.

I live in the southeastern part of the U.S. in the state of Alabama, so we get a lot of sun and hot weather (suppose to be close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit here today). I love being out side. I know I will pay for it but, I will not let Lupus control my life. I lather up in 70+ SPF sunscreen and do what ever when ever. In the summer all I wear is shorts and T-shirt 99% of the time. I have to go barefoot because of Lupus, so no shoes.

Keep us updated, you never know when your issues, give someone else answers about their issues also. That's what I love about this Commuinty we help and support each other!
