Maria68, hope your doing ok, I have been on this pill for over 25 years, combined with Chloroquine its a bit of a struggle at first but it does help in time. You do notice how it helps when you actually try to lower it. It takes about 1 month to get the effects. Hair loss/ scalp sores and mouth/nose sores do occur but seem so minor after a while. more irritating. Read up on the tricks when and if you get them. Eat healthy and get plentIy of rest and wash your hands to keep yourself from catching colds. I have run my course on this med which I'm not looking forward to a change due to low immunity but one thing I was lucky with is I very seldom get sick and I worked around sick people often. Take precautions and you should be fine. Prednisone was nearby for me for the slight flairs along the way. Unfortunately this med wasn't strong enough to help a kidney flair when I started it so I did have to do IV cyclophosphamide, which did the trick. Imuran has kept me stable for 25 years after the big guns did the job. The other side effects subsided over time as well, even the fatigue. Good luck

I started it in August - with prednisone until last week. Was sick or off most of the past 2-3 months, gp adjusted dose two weeks ago because nausea and vertigo feeling were bothering me... We shall see... Tapering off prednisone and now off it, not sure how it's working, I'm more sore than when taking the prednisone but with reduced dose better than I have been since September. Good luck.

I have been on it for a while with the slight increase of dose as per needed.

I have had adverse reactions to many meds and have had cancer so starting on it was a real worry for me but after the initial bike headaches foir couple of weeks at start and ast every dise increase plus a little nausea and hair thinning I have been fine and it has helped enough to make it worth taking. The weekly bloods change to four weekly after a little while.

Hope you get on ok.
