Hi my first rheumatologista ppt back in June said maybe fibromyalgia not lupas!
Had blood tests done which came back all normal first ones show positive!!
Had scan today on hands and feet which show I have inflamed joints have to wait now for another rheumatologist appointment has any one else had the same or any ideas what I may have??
I don't think anyone here can tell you what you have. These things can be terribly frustrating to get diagnosed. Rheumatologists have different theories. You really have to be patient, persistent, and to not let the process itself get you down.
Hi Dawn sorry to hear that I have SLE Lupus which I have had since I was a child however I did not get diagnosed until 1998 even though I had my daughter in 1993. I then in 2014 had been told that I also suffer with Fibroymalgia and other medical conditions such as Vitamin D Deficiency. Larynx Reflux, Fibroids, Anxiety, Depression and a bit of Asthma which I did not even know I had. Life seems dull especially when you have children and are suffering with a medical condition but you learn to control your illness and eventually your children will understand like my daughter does now because she has seen me suffer with my SLE Lupus. I just hope they can give you all the support that you will need and get you through this disease hope it is not all bad news take care all the best Lillian

Hi Dawn it is a please I meant every word I know how it is to have this medical condition and be a full time mum it is not easy but it is best to take each day at a time and before you no it your children will be adults like my daughter who is now nearly 22 years old and she means everything to me and understands my illness a lot more than I thought she did because she grew up with me being ill but at least it is controllable and with the right support from a very 'good' and understanding Rheumatologist who treats you like a human being then your illness will not seem as bad as it could be all the very best and take care.

As you have inflammation in your joints despite normal bloods you don't have Fibromyalgia!. I hope you see the Rheumy soon for diagnosis and treatment. Good luckX
Um, sorry to contradict Misty14, but you can have fibromyalgia and lupus so having confirmed inflammation does not automatically mean you don't have fibro. It does mean you have something else, possible lupus or rheumatoid arthritis as fibro alone does not cause inflammation (according to current medical opinion). I have both illnesses. It took thirteen years to convince Doctors the burning hot joint pain was inflammation and not just fibro pain. Hang in there, the tests will find the truth eventually.
Hi, I was diagnosed with RA for 10 years as bloods for lupus weren't done for five years post joint symptoms. It was only when other organs had problems I was tested. I had two positive one negative?. However, if you see my rash etc it is sle. The Dr says I can have sle with RA related problems. I have fibro pain now years on. The pain to me is different but you learn which is which but some times they blend into a horrendous mess. Tests aren't full proof I've decided my symptoms are more reliable. Keep a diary, it helped me. Good luck.
Could be lupus and fibromyalgia! My regular dr did blood work an my Ana was way high and vitamin d way low she said I have lupus and sent me to a rheumatologist 3 months later (and with all the lupus meds I my system) did his blood work and Ana normal and vitamin d normal (well wonder why!!! Could it be I have been on all this meds an I'm not in a flair he says no regular dr says yes)
