Hi everyone

Just wondered if anyone has had any problems with lumps and your skin close to your ribs. I have these weird lumps at the moment and I am a bit worried have the docs on Thursday but thought I would just check to see if anyone else has had this with sle or if this is totally unrelated. Thanks if you got this far lol xx

Meant to say the lumps are under my skin not visable I can only feel them. X

Hi gillsm, I have small lumps too but not on my ribs, although I haven't checked. Mine are on the back of my lower arm, coming away from the elbow. I noticed them a couple of months ago whilst washing. Don't know what they are and haven't reported them to Dr. They don't trouble me. My brother, who does not have lupus, has these all over his body. They are very visible, but apparently harmful.(think he was told, fat lumps.) I just presume I must have a mild case of whatever he has got !!!

Thanks for your reply, the lumps are kinda all over so I think it does sound like the fatty lump things, this lupus thing is so confusing to me still I still don't really get any of it to be honest. Thanks so much for taking the time x

Yes it changes everyday, but as they say, it is a good mimicker of other conditions. Don't take my word about your lumps. Still tell dr, as they are the so called experts.

Hi I was diagnosed just under 2years ago with lupus sle and I too have had problems with lumps. Last year I had one removed from my forearm as it was getting larger. Please note however, that it was malignant and im told nothing to worry over. I also have another on the base of my achilles, this can be extremely painful if knocked and again I have been told that it is nothing to worry about but as the positioning of this one is quite delicate it cannot be removed without the need for extensive time for recovery. Sorry the lumps are also under the skin.

Hello,

Are your lumps in the skin or are they 'attached' to the bone? I get lumps on various long bones whenever I get a lupus arthritis flare, similar to RA nodules. They tend to disapear eventually (takes several months) and my previous rheumatologist told me that the are likely aggregations of immune complexes...

Hi Hillsm, yes I have many nodules under the skin of my arms ( lipomas), and a very big one on my upper inner left arm.And after checking just now I have some on my tummy, I have Lupas but I don't know if it's related, im starting to think that maybe it is related. Let me know what your Dr says, im very interested. Hope you are well.❤️🍀

Are your lumps painful, even when you don't touch them & sharply tender when you do?
