Falling Igm levels, what does this mean?
I think these are antibodies, in short. Low levels can be found in autoimmune conditions. I'm guessing your rituximab has caused this as does other immunosuppressants. This can make you more susceptible to viruses and infections. Hope this is of some help, but hopefully someone who is sure of the answer, will reply.
It is an immunoglobulin - the body makes several (IgA, IgG, IgM, IgE, IgD). By itself a low level of IgM doesn't mean anything and could be an effect of medication. When coupled with low levels of IgA or IgG, then there probably is an infection somewhere.
Thank you, maybe one of my other levels is low as well then because he did say it could be a sign of infection still going on.
I spent two weeks in hospital recently because of a cyst were my Fallopian tube and ovary is with severe infection. My consultant is holding off on my Rituximab and Cyclophosamide at the moment because he is concerned it may set it all off again,if something is still going on.
